Teleaid SOS Malfuction Warning Mercedes Benz SOLVED

Is your Mercedes-Benz greeting you with “SOS TeleAid not Activated” or “SOS Defective Please Visit Workshop” warning on your Instrument Cluster? The message is being displayed because TeleAid has now become obsolete as it uses analog cellular coverage which no longer  exist as of February, 2008.  Mercedes Benz no long provides TeleAid service, they have now switched to Mercedes-Benz mbrace.

You have two options to disable this warning message from displaying on your Instrument Cluster.

 

1. Disable TeleAid in your Mercedes-Benz using Star Diagnostic Tool. Instructions on how to program TeleAid Unit are included below.

2. You can switch from Tele Aid to Mercedes Benz mbrace.

What is TeleAid SOS?

TeleAid is an emergy response system. Tele Aid is used to connect you to a live person at Mercedes Benz roadside assistance center which is available 24/7.  This is a free service for new car owners when activated within the first 90 first days of purchase. It connects the driver to Mercedes Benz road side assistance by using cellular technology and GPS to locate your vehicle. Tele Aid system is used also to send crash data in case of an accident. TeleAid required a subscription. The Federal Communication Commission ruled that after February of 2008 wireless phone carriers, which are utilized by TeleAid for the communication, are no longer required to provide analog network support. This requirement made the TeleAid system obsolete.  For this reason we have included instruction on  how to clear the Teleaid SOS warning with the STAR Diagnostic tool. In case you are wondering, Star Diagnostic is the scanner that the dealer uses to troubleshoot any system in your car and it is specific to Mercedes Benz cars. These units are kind of pricey but well worth it if you can afford one. You can buy one on Amazon, link here.

If you don’t have access to the Star Diagnostic Tool you can have your Mercedes Benz dealer perform DTB P-B-82.95/636a, 03/24/2009 Supersedes: P-B-82.95/636 dated Oct. 29, 2008 “Instrument Cluster Message – “SOS TeleAid not Activated””

SRS Airbag Defective Warning could be triggered when the TELE AID malfunction is displayed. The reason is that the car also uses the TELE AID system to send crash data in case of an accident. Once you change the configuration for Tele Aid to Not Present, you should also check the Air Bag Control Unit with Star Diagnostic and reset the fault code that are related to the TeleAid.

Disable TeleAid SOS Malfunction Warning using Mercedes Benz Star Diagnostic

Using Star Diagnostic you will need to change TeleAid coding from PRESENT to NOT PRESENT. By using these instructions you understand that TeleAid will not be available in case of an emergency.

*   Model 203, 209, 210 C CLK E Class: In Star Diagnosis:Control Units –> Information and communication –> ICM – Instrument cluster with maintenance interval display –> Troubleshooting by means of complaints or symptoms –> Messages from the emergency call system are displayed in the instrument cluster.
*   Model 211 E Class: In Star Diagnosis: Control Units –> Body –> CGW (Central Gateway) –> Control Unit Adaptations –> Read Coding and Change if Necessary –> Telecommunications –> Telematics Service “Tele Aid” in combination with MOST technology.

Procedures:

1.Turn vehicle off

2.Locate the SD card slot.SD card slot is usually inside the center of armrest,or it is in the dash.

Consult your owner’s manual for assistance if needed.

3.Remove the old SD card.Your SD card slot is spring-loaded.

To remove the SD card just push the card in and release it.Do not attempt to pull the card to remove it without pushing it in first,as this could cause damage.

4.Insert the new Navigation SD card into the SD card slot until it clicks.

5.Start the engine.Press NAVI to access Navigation function.

When screen shows “ACTIVATING NAVIGATION,PLEASE WAIT”.

It is pairing the card to the Car,after confirming “YES,THIS IS INTENDED VEHICLE”

SD card belongs to this car and card cannot be used with any other vehicle.

Mercedes benz xentry das Missed Development data in SAM Smart 451 solution

 

Wanna activate DRL in SAM on a Smart 451 for the wife; however, it turns out my good old SD Connect C4 Xentry/DAS machine is missing the “Development data button” in SAM

I have “Diagnosis to plant specifications button” in KI on 451

It’s the same issue in SIM as on the car

I can access all development data in SAM on Smart 450, 452, 454.
But no SAM dev access in the bloody one i just bought…..

SOLVED !!!
Started a topic in the forum… Wait but no one could help me, so i did some “development” my self..

Changed all “LIC_Erstellerdaten” entries to “LIC_Entwicklungsdaten” in the 4 menu files attached

If you want development data in SAM on Smart 451’s then change your current 4 files with the edited ones in my attachment.
Files are located in this folder F:\Programme\DAS\trees\smart\AC451\SAM_451\menues

You will now have “Diagnosis to plant specifications” in your main SAM menu.

Don’t forget to back up the old ones in case i have messed something up

How to Configure SD Connect C4 Wifi on Win10 Win7 XP

SD Connect C4 Wifi Configuration mainly depend on which version of C4 and what the computer operation system (win10 or win7 or XP).

MB SD C4 Plus DoIP user, please be informed:

MB SD C4 Plus DoIP wifi Configuration is very simple, after the computer searches for the wifi signal, enter the password 123456789, you don’t need to set anything else, and you don’t need to set the WIFI IP address.

For the other version of SD Connect C4, thanks to @ W211 user, who concludes the following instructions:

I have added how to change driver in win 10.
Win have all the drivers. You do not need to download any shit from internet.

*****To check if wifi card support adhoc rund cmd as admin and copy paste:*****

Maybe you need to revert back to old drivers, if adhoc is not supported!

I will Start with LAN setup:
1. Open properties to ethernet/LAN card IPv4
2. Enter IP 172.29.127.119 subnetmask: 255.255.255.0 if no communication when doing diagnostic with xentry/DAS try
172.29.127.121 subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
One of those IP’s would get you connected to c4! No more needed!

Wi-Fi Setup: Manuel mode (optional)
1. Open properties to Wi-Fi adapter and change IPv4 to
192.168.2.119 or
192.168.2.121
Again, One of these IP’s will work when you start diagnostic with Xentry/DAS

Must DO:
Create Adhoc Connection Road24h!
On win 10 Use old Wi-Fi driver to activate adhoc connection. Best Drivers are from 2015! (Change driver in device manager, pick old driver manual stock from win. You do not need to download any driver!)

1. Open Network and Sharing center and click “Set up a new connection or network”
2. Select “Manually connect to a wireless network”
3. Enter Information for the network you want to add:
– Network name: Road24h
– Security type: WEP
– Security Key: 26xa “aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa”
– Untick/Unselect “Start this connection automatically”

C4 Wi-Fi automatic mode:
To start “C4Wi-Fi_ON” connection I made a simple batch file, it will enable and dissable wifi card before assign new IP to your Wi-Fi card and connect to Road24h adhoc wich is created!
Also included “C4Wi-Fi_OFF” to revert IP back to automatic so you can use internet!

If stock IP (192.168.2.119) in “c4wifi_ON.bat” is not right you can right click the .bat file and edit to new IP which works for your C4!
Its only one click rather than go back and forth to change IPs. Also your WiFi card name you can edit in the file to match your wifi card name Stock in .bat file is “Wi-Fi”.

Its important you have made/created the adhoc connection Road24h in above settings before running .bat file! RUN AS ADMIN!! Copy .bat to Document folder, right click and send to desktop. Right click shortcut on desktop and click advanced, tick “Run as admin”. When you click shortcut it will run as admin and do its job!

Any difference on Win10 / Win7 /XP:

     On Win7 / XP

To change the Road24h connection to your usual network, some old adapters need to disable and enable the network adapter in the .bat.

    On WIN10

no need to disable and enable old adapters.
Win 10 Test report: Run batch files with administrator rights on my Windows 10 and works fine. Name of wifi connection must be the same in batch and in network section in control panel.

***Experience for sharing: In my old Toshiba with Intel PRO Wireless 3945ABG it is necessary to disable and enable old adapters, otherwise it is not able to change from the standard network to the adhoc network. And I am using WIN10.

Conclusion:
So it will enable and disable the card before apply new IP, no matter old or new pc!!!
If you want to Give special icon to .bat file!
– Copy both .bat files to document forlder.
– Right click files and send to desktop ( This will create a shortcut on your desktop)
– Right click on the .bat file on desktop and change icon to any and apply!
– Change the name of .bat file if you prefer C4

ZenZefi certificates are needed.

Does DTS 9.02 work on W223?
For w223 it needs ZenZefi certificate.
This project files works partially not all ecus are able to be coded in w223 and w206 cars.
The zenzefi certificates are around 10 certificates as of now.
Xentry diagnostic still doesn’t work if you are having that 10 zenzefi certificates also still it doesn’t work.
You need for every single ecu separate certificates for Diagnostic and separate for coding. And there are 6 different Types of certificates. After sales Basic, Aftersaleaenhanced, Development, Development Enhanced, Production and Suppliers.

Do I need to remote DTS Monaco 8.13/8.16 if install 9.02?

No, you can have both DTS 8 and 9 on the same laptop.

Does DTS Monaco 9.02 work without activation/certificate?

No, without working zenzfei it’s actually less useful than DTS8.
and works on SMR only but not CBF.
Full DTS have support for cbf. The i9.02 is incomplete version.

DTS 8.16 works perfectly with all chassis. Online and Offline.

8.16 works with 223 and 297, it has been working for a ling time, but you need online account.

You need to register and get account to use 9.02! Kline, can and doip protocols are supported. Not like the bad and first test dts from softing wich is viral on internet. Better use 8.16.

How to Change Xentry 2021-12 App ID from 253 to 252 and Hide VM

How-To: Install MB Star Diagnostic SD Connect C4 Xentry 2021-12 on Virtual Machine and change App ID From 253 to 252.

Firstly, a huge thanks to @webmaster, @gcs190, @pesona, @connector, @disinfetor, @cloud9atom, and many others who have helped us learn.

HOW TO: Change Xentry App ID From 253 to 252 and Hide Virtual Machine
WHAT THIS FIXES: “No Access Authorization” on accepted Startkey, or Config Assist not accepting long key or short key StartKeys
*   Go to your virtual image folder
*   open notepad (Windows Key + R, “notepad“, enter.)
*   Drag and drop your .vmx file for the image into notepad
*   Add the following line at the end of the file: monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = “true”
*   Save and close
*   Open your Virtual Machine, goto to Xentry Config Assist et voila – your App ID is now 252!. You have prevented Xentry from detecting it is running inside a Virtual Machine

HOW TO: Properly Uninstall Old Versions of Xentry
WHAT THIS FIXES: Too many tools installed that are not compatible with each other. If Everything is a mess and you are unhappy
*  Uninstall Xentry: Remove any old versions of Xentry through the windows uninstaller
*  Clean up any old patches: by deleting Xentryapi.dll and/or Connector64.dll from C:\windows\syswow64 , C:\windows, C:\windows\system32 if exists
*  Clean up registry: Windows+R key, “regedit”, enter. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows and delete AppInit_DLLs and LoadAppInit_DLLs keys (they may have pointed to or referenced XentryAPI.dll or Connector64.dll)
*  Clean up the previous keyguard: Navigate to C:\programdata\LicDir and make sure lic_key_2.dat is NOT set to Read-Only (right-click, properties on file). Delete lic_key_2.x4711 if it exists

HOW TO: Installing Xentry XPT 2021-12 in Virtual Machine VM:
WHAT THIS FIXES: Hopefully a Mercedes !!
*  If Not in VM: Disable Secure Boot in Bios
*  If In VM: Modify VMX file as per above instructions (can be done anytime prior to using keygen)
*  Download XPT or Xentry Files
*  Install
*  Run Fullfix v4 by @disinfetor in Administrator Mode (right-click the icon, run as admin)
*  Restart PC
*  Open Config Center, click next until Start Key Screen. Click Copy ID Button
*  Right-click and Run as admin XentryKGdisMod – if given .dll not found error hit ok. Key will appear
*  Go back to Config Center Screen, click manual, then paste using CTRL-V. Hit ok
*  Choose your storage options (Deactivated etc.)
That’s it – you should now be able to start without “No Access Authorization”, No “2221-45 Error”, and No Login Screen all thanks to the work of multiple people on mhhauto forum and the disinfetor package!

Mb Star C3 “simdas.exe needs to close” and WIS error Solution

Some customer had the “simdas.exe needs to close” and WIS error when running Mb Star C3 pro red multiplexer Dell format DAS.

Problem 1:
I had the these errors when i run MB Star diagnosis DAS:
1) simdas.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

2)The WIS is not available for this system

Cause:
Improper operation

Solution:
1. simdas.exe error: You should enter DAS but not SIM software to troubleshot Mercedes
2. WIS error:
You entered WIS from DAS directly. It was incorrect. You should start WIS from desktop.

A Mercedes Benz W212 2010 with VIN 2120891A208054 owners had the problem when diagnose his model with original MB Star C3 scanner.

Problem 2:
He has got the Benz star c3 (with original Star diagnosis DAS/Xentry SSD) multiplexer to diagnose and program his model. But the software pops up an error message “ZGW is not answer”. He then contact Autonumen technician if it is Ok to buy the latest DAS/Xentry for MB Star C3 to work on this model.

Solution:
Sorry, for MB newer model, your W212 included, you should go for MB SD Connect C4 diagnostic system with newer software version. MB star C3, even original one is too old to diagnose these newer MB cars.

When referring to "online", it means that in order use certain programming functions, you must be signed in to mercedes factory Xentry online service just like the dealer. Basically you're logging in to their servers to update, program, and code your vehicle. It is not very feasable or economical for the normal DIY'er to purchase this from Mercedes as they frown on cloned star tools and even if they allowed you, its very expensive ($3k/year).

However, there are plently of providers online that have legitmate logins/passwords to access Xentry online and charge for a single use, day rate, month rate, and year for a more reasonable price. It requires some sort of team viewer where you get everything ready to code, they log in remotely, then you code everything yourself and then end the session. If you are planning on doing this, then you need to have a DAS/Xentry version that is less than a year old. MB servers block software older than that from logging in online.

Offline programming allows you to do certain programming while not logged in to xentry or even an internet connection. Certain funcitons must be done by online coding no matter what. There was a cutoff in software version (5/2015 i believe) where you can no longer use offline programming. So if you purchase a machine to do offline programming it will never be able to program online. Confusing huh!

Bottom line:
Star C4/5/6 running at least 12/2021 software will program online but not offline.
Star C4 running 5/2015 to 12/2021 will not offline or online program. Must be updated to 3/2019 or newer to do online programming.
Star C3/4 running from 3/2015 and older can program offline but will never be online capable.

C4 comes sometime with and sometimes without UDS Chip.
The Xentry C5 which costs about 400-700 EUR is a C4 inside with C5 Body.
The C5 from 1100 EUR up is a DoIP Multiplexer with internal HDD or SSD. All the programs are stored in the Multiplexer, You only need a Laptop with 30 GB Disk Space for the Programs.

Mercedes SCN Coding Software Calibration Number (SCN) coding is required to update the software when a new Electronic Transmission Controller (ETC) or fuel control unit (ME) is installed. In a majority of the systems in Mercedes Benz, SCN coding is required after the replacement.

Why is this important?

Because if you are experiencing trouble with your transmission, there is a good chance that the problem is with your ME Control Unit and that SCN coding is needed to resolve the issue. Unauthorized technicians can not fix this problem because only certified technicians can access the Mercedes-Benz system server.

ALL work on your Mercedes should be done by a technician who is SCN certified.
All these systems require network authorization from the Mercedes-Benz Technical Service Center for the completion of the process. Unauthorized technicians can’t do this. These systems like:
